Hagrid's Hut!

It's really good to be back home for the holidays, means I can sleep in again! But that's not to say I didn't enjoy my trip to the US! The most exciting part was defs seeing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! When we first went in, there were no words to describe how I felt, simply awestruck! (Although, I do admit, I am a bit of a Potterhead.) Everything, from the quaint little shops in Hogsmeade (some of the really should have been in Diagon Alley!) to the towering Hogwarts castle was so real and detailed. Even the snowman in the courtyard was dressed in a Gryffindor scarf and robes.

Yet, like all things that tend to instantly amaze, the pull of the 'magic' began to fade after a while. Perhaps it was the two-hour queues for everything, or maybe the tiny errors in the 'world' coupled with my nitpicky ways, but by the end of the first day, I was feeling a bit anticlimactic. Lucky for me, Dr. Seuss-world was right next door!

That's not to say I didn't enjoy HP world, it was great! In fact, I came back the next day, just to gawk at the buildings again. And the food. Especially the food… Mmm… Haha. Hopefully I'll get to visit there again!

Hi Annie,

So, today I finished my exams, which is a good thing? It means I get to see you sooner ^_^
I also read your post, and somehow, our lives these past two years seem oddly similar, even though we're miles apart. (No wonder we're twins =P )

This piece is really soothing, I quite like it. It describes the peace that sometimes comes after the hectic schedule before and during exams. Hah.

Annie's right, in many ways we are still the innocent naive little girls we were when we started. But in so many other ways we aren't. These past two years have changed us a lot, I know I can speak for myself. The fears I've faced, the trials that we've been through to chase our dreams, the disillusionment, they've all helped to shape us into who we are today. But sometimes we don't really know what we're chasing, or if the dream is nothing but just that. Growing up, knowing what you want, is really confusing. But then again, so is calculus, stochastic modeling and algebra. I've been talking to people lately, and I've come to the realisation that maybe I don't know what I want in life, yet. I'll let you know when I do.

Does this mean we're both where we were two years ago? I don't think so. These past two years, I've made more mistakes than I can count. But somehow, I know that there will be a day that I won't regret making those choices and that hopefully from them we can learn to be better people.

Now it sounds like I've been reading too many self help books. Great.

Being Sentimental

Mmm...right now it's 11:49pm, pouring outside. I'm sitting in bed writing this blog diary sort of thing. I don't know why, but all of a sudden I feel so sentimental, so lovey, touching, feely or whatever you want to call it. Is it the coffee?

A lot has happened in the past 2 years I guess. But somehow, at the end of the day, I don't think I've changed at all. I'm still the same as I was back then, that same naive little girl who day dreams all day, someone who fantasizes, someone who imagines things in such a perfect light that it's almost unrealistic, thinking of the world as if it were a fairytale.

I had a conversation with a friend about relationships the other day. She was analyzing relationships, talking about the balance of power, playing the games... It was all foreign language to me. Really?

To me, love has always been so simple. If you like someone, you just like them. And if everything works out, then great! I guess what I'm saying is that I've never thought about it in a logical way. Maybe I should, just a little bit. But I would never want to be like that. I would never want to analyze relationships like that, to analyze love. It almost seems...robotic in a way...

For the past two years, I've had a crush, I've loved someone, people have liked me. Nothing has really happened, so in a way, its still the same as before.

I thought I've matured, I thought I've grown. But it was only recently that I realized that right now, I still don't know what I want....

Today, we went over to a friend's place to make croquembouche! :D At first, when looking at the photo of the completed "artwork", it almost looked impossible! That photo was just deceitful looking! It was actually really easy to make! So there we were, after 2 hours of cooking, with a tower of sugar and happiness! ^_^

I'm so glad that exams are over! Swotvac seemed to last forever, it was just never ending! Now just *fingers crossed*, hope I pass! @_@ We went shopping after exams, I bought this peachy colored cocktail dress. It was the first thing that I bought since swotvac in midyear. I know...such a fail! =.='

Sakinah took us to Malaysian place for dinner. It was really good and had student discount as well. Hmm...on a random note, must learn to cook Malaysian food some day!! ^_^

We went to the beach afterwards and walked along the shore. It was such a wonderful feeling, not having the stress of exams, feeling the gentle breeze, watching the sunset =)

See, I just finished failing all of my midterms today, and now I have all these gay little group projects due. Funfunfun! Congrats on winning badminton btw!

So, I was procrastinating (it's funny how many of my sentences begin with this...) and I stumbled upon something really really cute. And it made me think of you because you know, you're studying med an all... Uhh.. =P

Although I'd argue that for me, the food section is larger. <3

ALSO. My tv shows have started. Which means a sharp decline in time spent studying. But recently I broke my earphones. So I guess not...? Eh... Lose lose situation...

Finally blogging!

Holidays finally started! It seems like I've been waiting for this day since forever!!!~

On Friday night, there was another med event and as usual, it was at a club. The event was "The Red Party", it was held to raise money for HIV. We were all meant to wear red, except major fail! I have NOTHING red in my wardrobe! =O So the night before, I went last minute shopping ^.^ Finally at 8:30 pm, prince charming (ok actually... *my dress* shows up!!) It's a pretty purply shiny dress that I got for $72. The original price was $279! *sense of accomplishment!!!* Totally proves my Asianess!! :D

But uhh... I figured that the purply dress was too fancy so I wore another one instead XD

Today, there was a badminton competition for Australian Chinese Medical Association. I partnered with a friend who's totally prooo!! ^.^ So I did my usual job aka stand in front of the net and do nothing =P was awesome! After me being totally considerate and making him exercise *cough cough*, we actually won! :D It was the first time that I played badminton in 2 months and it was amazing!

Playing badminton today reminded me of how I felt playing badminton in Melbourne - that rush of excitement, that energy and all the laughter. I love badminton, but more so, it's the awesome people that make it really fun. I still remember the times in Melb where we played badminton until 1 am, we just keep on going and going and don't want to stop, taking breaks and chatting to people in between, playing and joking around on court....it was the best thing ever! During the past two years when I played in Adelaide, it just hasn't felt the same, it wasn't as fun or exciting. Today, somehow, I manage to get that feeling back. Thanks JLo! =)

After badminton, I went out for a walk again, partially because I always enjoy these walks. But also, I needed to clear my head. Here are some beautiful pictures of the vineyard at sunset today!

So uni has started again, and this semester yours truly has a THREE DAY WEEK! I'm really really pleased about this. Maybe. (Hopefully I'll actually get out of bed on the days that I don't have class...) I dunno, am I the only one that has procrastination issues?

Apart from that, I've now moved into a double room, rooming with Lainey Woof/Miaow and our various imaginary friends... and tea. Heh heh heh... (Oh man, I can't stop doing the Voldy laugh!) Speaking of tea, (well, not really... but anyway), I bought a new tumbler today! Even though it's technically a "MUG". (According to the Starbucks guy anyway.)

Other than that... nothing much really... But I did see some interesting things here and there..

Uni in the Past Few Weeks

Life has been hectic since uni started a month ago. I can't believe it's almost been 4 weeks. Time just flew by!

I'm doing cranial dissection this semester. One of the major "wow!" moments happened yesterday. We were digging away with our tools as usual when we heard this loud sound. Everyone looked over. We saw people next to us, cutting away a bone with an electric saw! O.O Feel like such a butcher... There is no way that I'm doing orthopaedics in my life!

It's so hard to get the life/study balance thing going. I mean, it seems like ever since uni started, if I'm not studying, then I'm busy trying to do something else.

Today is one of the days where I feel like sitting on the couch, watching a movie and doing nothing. But here I am blogging! =)

These holidays has been one of the best holidays ever! :D After exams, I decided that I wanted to do nothing, so I stayed at home doing nothing for days. Doing nothing has never felt so good!!

The global health conference was amazing! The lectures gave us a worldly perspective on health and really broadened our horizon. Now I'm also thinking about doing an overseas placement in the future.

Melbourne. What more can I say? It was awesome! :D trying out different food everyday, meals consisted of Chinese food, Thai food, Malaysian food, Jap food, Italian food, different desserts... I never liked dessert better! As impossible as that sounds... Passssionflower is the best thing ever! Now I understand what it means to have a separate dessert stomach! :D

I've also played heaps of badminton in Melb. Badminton is great in Melb, especially because of the people who I play with. Thanks awesome people!! ^.^ (oh yes, side note, feather shuttlecocks are so much better =P) Also, I went to a social night, people offered me food! :D I got chocolate from the organizer, had cake from another player, went to get KFC with someone else afterwards. Seriously, what more can I ask? :D

It seems like holidays are passing faster than ever! There's only 1 week left O.o Really don't want holidays to end, but in the mean time, I'll really enjoy what remains =) Also, finally, I get to say, goodbye MMI (the most annoying subject in the world, if I haven't complained about it to you already =P) Yay!!! ^.^ Looking forward to cranial dissection instead of MMI, should be waaayyy more awesome! :D

Schonbrunn!

Yesterday we arrived in Vienna, and today after our bus tour we went to Schönbrunn! I was majorly looking forward to this, being a bit of a princess-freak. =P

The palace was truly magnificent, and even more amazing was it's age, surviving various monarchs and their whims. It surprised me, the extent of power that a ruler can have, even on the architectural style of the entire CITY.

Before we arrived in Schonbrunn, we actually stopped at Sacher, to buy their 'famous' chocolate cake, i.e. the Sacher-Torte. After the tour, the three of us sat on a bench in the extensive (and colourful) gardens of Schonbrunn, devouring this scrumptious delight.

Luckily, the weather was kind to us today, not too hot and not too cold, in fact, sunny just when we need it! Although a bit on the windy side... =]

I hope that was insightful, but one thing I realised out of this visit to Schonbrunn is that although the gardens and rooms may be so lavish, and have portraits of children, mazes; the princes and princesses (and even the rulers) that lived here also had a rather rigid lifestyle, bearing in mind their responsibility to their people and politics.

On a different note, happy birthday mum! I'm sorry I can't be home for your birthday and hope you had a good one!

Today we had class for a bit and a lady came and spoke to us about economics and the EU, then we went to visit the European Commission in Munich. Both of which were after meeting Professor Dr. Dr. Head of the CAP. Boy did I feel inadequate!

Anyway, after that we went to Maximilianeum, where the Bavarian Parliament used to be I think. But now, gifted scholars in Germany can get a scholarship to LIVE there and study in Munich. I want to be gifted too. Sadly, I'm just lazy.

So, I was thinking Anni, that maybe you and I could move there, you know, since they'd obviously let us. Totally. =P

Neuschwanstein

Today we went to the castle Neuschwanstein, the really pretty one and inspiration for the Disney castle (or so I've heard). It is indeed really really amazingly beautiful, from all angles and even more so inside. True, that it may seem a bit extravagant, especially considering that the Bavarian king at the time, Ludwig II, had three castles being built simultaneously! (Plus, he had a bloody brilliant castle and summer residence to begin with!)

Apparently he wasn't a very good king for the people, and did not really take care of them well, preferring to retreat into a fantasy world, hence the swans and Neuschwanstein and the other castles.

But less chatter more pictures!

The view from the castle... breathtaking. But then again, so is the castle.

Perhaps this castle serves as a reminder that one cannot have beauty without incurring it's costs, similar to the message of those fairytales that this castle seems to belong in. But it is really really really really preeeeeetty. Hah.

Hello! Once again I've been a horrible blogger, but I have an excuse! I'm in Germany!
I'll try to get some photos uploaded soon, but right now I'm rather ecstatic that my internet is working!

The weather is pretty awesome here, it's summer, but it feels like Melbourne's winter. Which, might I add, I am perfectly fine with! From my room, there is a nice view, thanks to the balcony and the 7th floor =P (Oh dear, would you look at that horrible grammar).

Yesterday, after feeling really jet-lagged, I decided to go for a walk in search for food. Luckily for me, I ran into another girl from this program, who happens to know her way around. So she took me to a delicious food place (pictures soon!) and the town hall area, to have a look around. The architecture here never ceases to amaze me ^^ so prettyful~ Haha.

After reading Annie's post, I felt rather sad and it made me realise some of the things I've been worrying about lately aren't really important. For example, Darren Criss, my sanity (or lack thereof), bugs... did I mention Darren Criss?... And, of course, how I keep putting off blogging.

It's okay Annie, if you never find that other half, you'll always have me! But I'm sure will, since you're so cute, considerate, selfless, smart, amazing, thoughtful and a bunch of other awesome adjectives that can only describe my twin! I have faith that you will.

Did you know, there are metal 'wires' on my violin and in my mouth? And in the walls that surround me? Even the cord that connects my computer to the wall, and the ones connecting my computer to my earphones to my ears. Creepy thought, that.

He's Just Not That Into You

Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, every story we're told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is... just... moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.

I really agree with what people say, "year 2 med is the best time ever!!"

The beginning of last year was just so stressful because I didn't know what to study and how to study. I moved to Adelaide barely knowing anyone. This year, I'm used to everything already and life is so much easier! Of course, not easier as in there is a decreased workload, but just so much easier, because I know what I should be doing. It's so much more fun!

In the past few weeks, I've realized how much I like med and how much I like uni. I'm so interested med that I'm happy even when I'm staying up studying at 2 am (excluding the times where I'm falling asleep but I have to study nevertheless lol XD)

This year, a lot has changed, I hang out with a lot more people and we have so much fun together! We're there for each other during the stressful times, hanging out together when we get the time to relax, laughing so much until our stomach hurts...especially the waffles yesteday and the chatting non-stop for several hours, chatting about anything and everything...really, I'm just grateful for what I have right now. I just love it!

This year will be a great one!!! *knock on wood* hehehe. Hope you guys are having fun too!! =)

First of all, thanks Shelly! You're soo sweeeet!~ <3 Hope you had a good holiday too! And good luck for your tests! I'm sure you'll do awesomely despite the procrastination - you're naturally talented! :D

Now for the story...

Successful shopping sprees mostly involved Esprit, where almost everything fits perfectly. The 50% off adds to the sense of satisfaction! =)

Other times, shopping consisted of going to random shops where you try on 10 items only to find that most don't fit well, half probably makes you look fat and the rest makes you look weird. =.=' In an unlikely event, you would be wonderfully surprised - you find that finally...finally, one is suitable...

Within 2 months and 9 days, I've accumulated a whole new suitcase to carry home. Like all other girls, I thought to myself "a girl can never have too much clothes".

Sadly, 24 hours and a big fat suitcase later, I was proven wrong. Then the saying changed in my mind; it went from "a girl can never have too much clothes" to "a girl only realizes that she might have bought too much clothes when she needs to stuff all of it into her closet"

Firstly, welcome back Annie!!! <3 I hope you had a great time!!

Last week, when I was procrastinating, I played Taylor Swift's Enchanted on loop for quite some time, much to the display of my cluster mates. It reminded me of a time when I met someone and inevitably donned on those rose-coloured glasses. <3

Just imagine my surprise when I was procrastinating again just now (really bad since I have a test tomorrow) and saw that ADAM YOUNG responded to her Enchanted! Honestly, I couldn't breathe. (And it's not even for me!) His 'reply' is not only super sweet; but also to have the confidence and put in the effort to make something like this is really amazing. I totally agree with Yahoo saying that he's "won over half the female population of the world"... *oh sigh* (And to do it on Valentine's day...)

After watching AVPM and AVPS last year, I was, to put it lightly, completely and utterly obsessed. Just a little. =]

For those that don't know, AVPM (A Very Potter Musical) and its sequel AVPS are rather funny and musical renditions of my beloved HP series. (And they mention Dramione, which is a plus in my book). If you haven't seen them, I strongly urge you to check it out. Just youtube it...(goodness knows how much time I've been spending on youtube lately...)

I heard that in the states, starkid (the people who made AVPM and other (totally) awesome stuff) is releasing their newest production "Starship" tonight. Oh how I feel like I'm missing out.

ANYWAY. We're getting sidetracked. Since today is a Saturday and I felt like procrastinating (as always), I conveniently remembered that my sister told me the new Glee ep. was out and so I asked her if Darren Criss was in it. (Sad, I know, I only watch Glee if he's in it) She said yes. And thus began the end of my plans for a productive day of Calculus.

So yeah. I watched it, crappy internet connection and all. I must admit the part in the beginning where he knew Kurt's coffee order made me smile so much I was sure my nose was all over my face. But it was worth it =] But it was kinda sad when the 'guy who works at Gap' rejected him; except it wasn't really, because deep down I'm a Blaine and Kurt shipper. =P (and he wore those pink sunnies.)

Oh and the ending. Paul McCartney. And Darren Criss. Kinda makes up for not going to Starship. Almost. ^^

Recently I got back to Sg, it's pretty much the same as I left it.. Haha. With a few exceptions like the weather; it's been raining lots *heart* I hope Anni is having funfun in China <3>

Also since I got here, I've had to collect 20 cent coins like the mad-woman/hoarder that I am. Why, you ask? (Or maybe you don't ask... but imma gonna tell you anyway.) The laundry downstairs only accepts 20 cent pieces. Which is irritating to the max. (Seeing as the coin change thingo is all the way on the other side of PGP --where I stay) So whenever I buy stuff, I ask for change in 20 cents. (Then proceed to get strange looks from the sales people...)

My life thus far: notes, 20 pieces and Tintin.

As for uni, this sem I'm taking micro and macroeconomics, econometrics, finance and calculus. (Which, might I add, is from 8-10. AM.)

By the way, I really like the change in layout to this blog, thanks Anni! (Which goes to show how long I haven't checked...)

The year so far, has been woooonderful+fulfilling+filled with happiness (on most part :D even though it still had its ups and downs) There are so many great memories, like touring around with my relatives, going to Sydney visiting friends+bear, meeting so many awesome ppl in Adelaide, going to Medcamp and med gatheries/parties =) And now that it's finally holidays, I get to say yay!!!! You get depressed and emotional just thinking about how bad a doctor you'll become in a few years

You answer every question with "Hmmm *pretends to think for a sec*, I don't know". And you know the most correct answer is "It depends sir"

You diagnose every single abnormality on yourself/family/friends as a life-threatening condition. You think that the tiny haematoma on your finger is a risk for pulmonary embolism in due time XD

You watch House and ER and think you can score in the exams and get through medical school. Wrong! Only Dr. Wikipedia helps

You instantly feel that you want to bang your head against the wall whenever someone says "You're a medical student? You must be very smart then!" because it's an unbearable accusation

Your friend/cousin zooms in front of you with his brand new car and treats you to lucnh with his own paychecka dn on top of that, talks about property and houses to buy. And you're still struggling to buy your second hand reference books T_T

You have exams in a few days and when you're trying to do practice questions, you don't know what to do with your pen besides underline the key words in the question

Half of the holidays have passed already =( Barely did any work but it was heaps of fun! :D I've done clinical skills practice twice, going again tomorrow, also been to the Moon Lantern Festival and badminton twice as well :D. I was hanging with the Singaporians 3 days in a row this week, feels like I'm going to become one soon lol. Uyen-Minh and I went to see Easy A on Wednesday, let's just say...it was funny in a weird way XD. Can't wait until tomorrow!!!!!!! Going to visit Lincoln and attempt to steal Kimberly!!! :D :D :D Hopefully this mission actually works, because right now, we don't actually know where Kimberly's owner lives, only know that it's at Lincoln lol. Ohh...another minor issue- neither of us knows how to pick locks :S. Wonder how successful tomorrow's masterplan will be O.o should still be fun though muahahha. Yay!!! :D

We went to Lily's 19th on Saturday and I decided to blog the photos as well as Facebook. It was awesome!!! Sam and Jared were the bartenders, although they were really mean and put so much alcohol into the drinks, they totally wanted everyone drunk =.='. But yes, Lily the bday girl got drunk, with a pulse rate of 130 beats/min O.O I will not quote what she said while drunk lol. Let's see...what else...ppl thought I was drunk, but I sooo wasn't! Although I was quite red, don't know why XD. Love some of the photos photo e.g. JJ with 4 girls, smiling soooo happily muahaha lol and Sam's broken glass thing while mixing the drink hehehe. Three weeks of darkness... Muahaha. ha.

Yay!! Annie is coming home!!! How exciting!!! =D I'm so happy my ears are being tickled by my smile ^^ Hahaha Yay!!!!! I've missed you so much Annie!!!! Omgomgomgomg!!! How has studying been going? Argh!!! Good luck!!!! You're going to ace it!!!! (Then come back to Melbourne!) Woooot!!!

Uhm, yeah...so onto the "three weeks of darkness". Since I had utterly nothing to do, I put myself on a sugar-ban for about three weeks, from early May to the beginning of June. (Well, actually it's cos I have a sweet-tooth the size of the universe --and expanding, and that I read somewhere if you give something up for 3 weeks or so you can probs lose the habit.) So, hence the three weeks of "darkness". (I'm sooo glad Annie's coming back now!!!)

Well, actually it wasn't that bad I guess (since I tried this once before around Easter and failed miserably), although the first week was complete havoc. In retrospect, I guess my behaviour wasn't unlike that of a druggy without her drug. D= (oh btw, that pic is not mine. or i'd have eaten it by now)

But things soon got better around week 2, although I probs stuffed my face with other things, like chips and fruit. I did notice, however, that a LOT of stuff has sugar in it. Like BREAD. (well, some of it) and VINEGAR. (Seriously, who puts sugar in vinegar?) Oh well... needless to say I missed my ice-cream. *sigh*

In the final week, I discovered a few things. Like sugar-free dark chocolate. And sugar-free ice-cream. Aww man, I hope that doesn't count as cheating. (In fact I probs ate enough sugar-free dark choc. to feed a small nation.)

So what was the point of this, you ask? (Quite frankly, I have no idea. I still eat loads of sugar.) Though, writing it down makes it seem like I actually do something with all this time on my hands, no? (Oh how sad, I actually have to prove my existence to myself.) But I guess I didn't get all "sugar-hi" as often, and thus less "sugar-lo"s. Hmm... does that even make sense? Meh. All in all, it was kinda fun (you know, for someone who hasn't really got anything to do...) albeit a nightmare for my family. D=

Anyway! Onto more important stuff. LIKE ANNIE, WHO IS COMING BACK SOON!! YAY!!!! Aren't you excited? I am!!!! We have so much to catch up on!!!! I can't wait till your exams are over!!! (Which, of course you will totally pwn everyone and be amazing!!!) Love you!!!

It's been forever since I've blogged, I know... and as a highly skilled procrastinator, I've managed to put it off thus far. But frankly, I have no excuse for not blogging...yet. =P

So, here's what I've been doing these ...months, while Annie's been studying hard to become a life-saving doctor.

1. Reading. Not lots and lots, like this chap here, but I've managed to catch up on some reading. (and TV. Hahahaha... *sigh*)

2. My friend took me to a Jap. festival/day thing at her uni and we took pictures. =S (Argh, more proof that I haven't done anything productive. Don't you just feel so good about yourself right now, spending your time in ways better than mine?) But naw, it was fun!

I really should be sleeping right now because I have a lecture tomorrow at 8, but instead no, I'm here awake, listening to this song haha. I heard it on klove a few minutes ago. It's so encouraging, comforting...The past few weeks have been a major change for me, moving to Adelaide, moving from high school to uni, adjusting to the lifestyle in general. It was so stressful and hard. There were times where I felt so lost that I just wanted to break down and cry..and I did...

How ambiguous eh? Honestly, those people at Gossip Girl *sigh*. Hahah just kidding. Seeing as it's going to be Valentine's day soon, and my twin is leaving, I though I'd better post this now, before I put it off any longer.Since I have all this time, on my hands, I've been reading --as you do. And on my adventures through wonderland, having breakfasts at tiffany's (hahaha...), meeting people who sell their souls to paintings, as well as those who have a more romantic notion of love, I've noticed some pretty interesting things. Mad as a Hatter

Oh boo. I must've been feeling "mad as a hatter" today since I went to David Jones and bought Alice in Wonderland nail polish. *sigh* But on a brighter note, I got to meet and catch up with Annie today! I miss you so much!!! But alas, this glitter polish looks like an ugly mess on me albeit all the other positive reviews. I wasn't even going to blog this, but my twin actually wants to see the vomit-like mess on my hands (haha), so I'll do it. Also, I think that after this one, I'm going to stop using nail polish for a long long long time. It's stinks. Literally.So photos. Enjoy, Annie. Or not rather, for indeed they're quite horrendous.

And plus, I hate editing on "preview", and to use photoshop ^^ is really too difficult, seeing as I don't have it for this comp. EWWWWW Look at this mess. Sorry about the blur. No, not really. The blur actually makes the mess look less. So try to imagine this. But worse. Much, much worse. The only redeeming factor is that they dry fast. This is base coat + two coats of glitter, and I'm (somewhat) proud to say that I've not wrecked it. Although I wont make a difference. Trust me.

Yeah w/e. If I'm going to talk about unimportant and petty nail polish issues, I'd much rather spend my time reflecting on my fabulous afternoon in the city with my twin + bestest buddy.

I'm finally back in Melbourne. Gosh. That stupid Virgin Blue flight was delayed for 2 hours. It wouldn't have been too bad if Channel 7 hadn't changed to news, then Today Tonight and then Home and Away instead of broadcasting Fed! :'( They were checking the plane the whole time omg, because on its way to Adelaide, it was struck by lightning. I was sooo scared, seriously thought I might die by going on that plane XD. Anyways, I found out that Adelaide isn't as much of a hole as I thought. As long as I live in the city or near the beach, I should survive =P. The interview hmmm...I don't know as usual lol, the scenarios were just evil!!!!! Oh well whatever, in this situation, failing isn't bad at all yay!!! :D And to JJ: thanks for tour guiding!! =]

After reading Annie's last post, I really didn't know what to say. As you might have realised, I'm not a very articulate person --I don't talk much, and when I do it's mainly nonsense so it's not really worth listening to anyway. That's why, to express my love to my twin I'm going to use pictures. (I mean, a picture is worth a thousand words, right?)Oh my. Maybe that was the wrong decision. It's taking a very very very long time to upload. Well, at least this way is still definitely shorter than me typing it out. (I think I know why now. My sister is marathon-ing Merlin on the other computer *sob* ily Merlin)
So this is how I felt, after reading Annie's post. (Unfortunately, I don't look like that. Hmph. The cat is so cute!)

I promise I wont be calling you at 4am. Unless it's a real emergency. But still. You can call me at 4 am. But yeah. What I'm meaning to say is that I saw this picture on the internet and I thought of Annie, and how it is SO untrue. Seriously, why would I bother waking up at 4am to call Annie? I can just call her normally right?...uhh right? =S

Happy birthday dear Shelly!!!! After Anita's speech, I really don't know what to write. *Admire her speech =P*. Anyways, I hope that this year will be one of your best ones ever, one that's filled with all the things that you love, full of Feddy, Prince Caspian, Hamlet (exclude the tragicness), cows, unco-ness, ballerina related looking thingys and....math???? lol. Just kidding =P. Ok, maybe not math-math, but those wonderful math camp memories that one would cherish forever.

I still remember the day when I met you, January 4th, when I first saw you on the plane. I recall feeling sorry for you because you were surrounded by two guys who barely talked XD. I don't even know how it happened, but we just got so close after....a few hours? Or a day? Everyone thought we knew each other before haha =P.

I still remember from math camp our late night calls to each other even though we just live across the corridor and whispering so that Thanom wouldn't hear...us being on wheely chairs going through the hallway and laughing like crazy...us constantly fighting with each other and feeling so accomplished that we didn't fight for an hour after Richa got annoyed =P...our plan of moo-ing in the guys section at 7:00 am just to wake everyone up and annoy everyone...and so much more....

There's just so much about you that makes you stand out. Your energy, excitement, your sense of humor, your unco-ness...you bring happiness to all those around you, you're always there for me whenever I need you, whether it be listening to my complaints about someone, comforting me because of SACs, or just talking about random things...

I thank you so much for being who you are. I can't tell you how grateful I am for having met you and for being your twin. (All the math torture at math camp was worth it!!! XD). Oh, almost forgot! I should congratulate you on your accomplisment right? You embedded K 4,4 in a torus!!!! Soooo smart Shell!!!!! :D

You might be going to Singapore later, if not, then ANU and I might go to Adelaide. We won't get to see each other as often, but I want you to know that no matter where we are, I'll always care about you, and be there for you. I read my twin's post and I'd like to continue. Yes I agree that people can be excessive at times. An example of that would be my dad. He constantly nags me to study, going on about how important it is blah blah blah. He repeats himself several times, just to make sure that I completely completely get the point. Yeah who wouldn't? After going on forever. It's impossible with him. Even if I try to change the topic, he somehow goes back to it and goes on forever. Even though it's the holidays now, he's still nagging me to study at least 6 hours a day. He doesn't understand that after year 12, I would like to have a life.

But I do admit, yes his nagging helped. Without it, I wouldn't have worked that hard. I do appreciate it that he wants the best for me and I know that. My parents do so much for me. Thanks! I'm so glad to have them as my parents.

However on another note, I know that people care about me, people other than my parents. I'm thankful for that but at the same time, it can feel a bit too controlling. I like having my own freedom to do things. I believe that I'm mature enough to make decisions for myself sometimes, especially little things such as when I go to bed or what clothes I buy, but I do appreciate people's advice as well.

I have also come to realize in the past few days that people can be so different. Even if you've known them for a year, they might not be who you've imagined them to be. But that's ok, because everyone has their unique personalities and everyone's different. It's just that not everything works because people can be too different.

A very logical person would view relationship as something where you give and receive. Yes that's true. In relationships, we understand each other and help each other in times of need. Such a person would analyze the relationship and contemplate on whether the relationship is balanced, whether of not the person likes the other person the same as he/she does or whether the person meets his/her requirements and ticks all the boxes.

But to me, a relationship is not like that. It's more than that. When I love someone, I don't think of any terms or conditions. And yes this does sound like a deal, some marketing deal. Yet, love is not meant to be like that. Love is supposed to be pristine.To think otherwise would be contaminating love's purity. When I love someone, I don't think about anything else. I like everything that he does, whether it be the right thing or the stupid thing. Everything about him seems perfect, even if it's not, I'll still remain postive and twist the actual fact into something that I like. When I'm in love, I can't stop thinking about him. I can't help it but remember every little detail, every single thing that he has done for me. It just all seems so sweet. When I lay in my bed, I think about him. I go through every scene in my head and smile just at the thought of him.

I'm sorry for sounding so naive. I apologize for talking about this despite that I've never been in a relationship.

And when love comes, I'll know it, I'll feel it. I don't want to get involved in a relationship unless I'm completely sure that it is what I want also what he wants. If he likes me, he should like me for who I am, not for who he wants me to be.

Having said all this, I also need to say that don't take what I've written personally. It's just something that I was feeling on the spot. This post is more like a diary entry and speaking of which, I haven't written one in ages. For anyone who reads this: sorry for boring you/making you think that I'm insane lol.

Recently, I've come to realise that there are a certain type of people in society, who can be tricky to deal with at times. Personally, I've seen this in people such as my mother, and certain teachers, and even some friends. I'm not saying that they're all one type of person lumped together as a group or anything, it's just that they sort of have this common trait. It's loosely based around this:

"[They] know what [they] want, which is good. But [they] also know what they want for you and will get it no matter what you want, which is bad" -Anon.

Sometimes, forcing one's perspective onto others can be a good thing, in the end. Like being beneficial for you and them. Although at other times, this can seem a bit overpowering. I would give an example but my mother wont be pleased, and also, she's almost always right; so when she forces me to do things, I know it's for my own good. Plus, when I forget I agreed to something, she knows me well enough to realise I was listening to her, even though I don't show it.

Often, we make mistakes and do things we regret. Like me. Who just failed IB, despite my mum's frantic urging at me to study and get a tutor. I can't say she's not disappointed or upset. But I can hope that she knows I tried. I don't know if I tried my very best, because I failed.

But yeah. Whoops, I went on a bit of a tangent there... Hmm... well. Yeah. Oh great. Now I have to go, mum's urging me to go to sleep. Which is a good thing, even with my insomnia.

I know it seems I've been neglecting this blog ever since it started, but to tell the truth, I'm not too sure what to blog about. Trust me, I've started typing a post with all the pictures picked out and stuff, but then it occurs to me that honestly, what I have to say is just not that important. And if even I don't think it's important, surely no one else will. I hope you understand.

So even though this is nonsense, I'm going to post it anyway and see what happens =S

Recently I went to the city with a friend of mine to run a couple of errands, get on random trams and see where they take us etc. Funnily enough, we stumbled into Lincraft (no seriously, we literally stumbled, we were that tired) and I bought some lace that reminded me of ice-cream. Now, to me, that seemed like an innocent purchase at the time, but when I got home, I went through one of those needle-craft phases... I even turned my skirt into shorts... D= (Thank goodness I ran out of useable lace by then!)

See what I mean by nonsense? Who even wants to read this kind of garbage? It has no meaning to it whatsoever. Maybe this says something about my life, since that has no meaning. Hmm... in that case I should be doing something productive. Like learning to drive.

Sydney's really cool!!! And weird lol. The Wooley that we went to has 3 floors or something. The ticket machine at the train station doesn't accept more than 10 coins. What?!?! But I was trying to use all my silver coins XD. It doesn't take 5c ones either...what else? Forgot lol since I'm majorly lacking sleep+tired+sunburnt+have blisters on my feet+failed med interivew XD. Yesterday was really fun. We went to the bridge, the opera house and some random garden place. Thanks bro!!! =] But while walking in the garden, I lost bear :'( :S :(...good thing that we found him later, or else Yifei would have hated me for the rest of his life, and Shell would have killed me if I didn't commit suicide afterwards lol. Omg, bear and kitty make such a cute couple. Sooooooo adorable!!! :D Despite that I failed my UNSW interview, Syd was awesome!!!! =]

New Year's Resolutions

While I was thinking of something to post, my attention suddenly wondered to my bedroom wall (since it's right in front of me, duh) and I thought, I really need to clean up that area... So, apart from taking things off my wall, I also need to:

Stop being ridiculously immature (this one's been on my list for about the last decade, but oddly enough, it's still here)
Be more organised like my twin <3
Think about ... things. Like, before acting.
Learn to be less unco =D
Try to think more of others (this is so ambiguous, even I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to do.)

Okay, I'll try not to make too long a list, or it will go on forever. Literally. Filled with other less important, but important nonetheless (ha! try saying that ten times fast in a row) such as read Spot the Dog. And to get over The Nanny.

Cool, so that's my post. Take it as a Happy New Year thing from me, although it's not that enjoyable to read. (But it beats reading about me complaining about finding out that I'm going to fail IB tomorrow, right?)

Ok, since I have nothing better to do and someone wants to see more posts, I decided to blog again. But today was such a photo failure day. At yumcha, the photos just somehow didn't work out right. When I was taking photos with Louise, I always cut myself off, either my face wasn't in the photo completely or that it's half cut. If I was in the photo, it was blurry. Fail!!! XD lol Then we went to that park in Doncaster and it was really really windy =S. So yeah..my hair was messed up.Oh well, at least I made another post =] I wonder if my twin's having fun right now...hmm...and I seriously think that someone is playing games again haha, or if not, then that person is reading the strategy guide lollol

Merry Christmas folks!!! (omg, since when do I say ‘folks’?!)

Anyway, since it’s Christmas Eve and I’m stuck at home with a bunch of people, I thought I would be a good idea to make a post. (Translation: There is no one here my age and I’m feeling like a loner)

So, today, I woke up a 9 after a total of 3 hours of sleep. Fantastic. And I wasn’t even trying to stay up!! (Drank too much coffee, looooong story!) I looked in the mirror whilst brushing my teeth and nearly yelled. (Okay, I admit it, I did yell) It was the hair. Again.

But on a more merrier note, I found my camera cord, so I can put up some photos of NZ =] (IF ONLY THEY DIDN'T TAKE SO LONG TO UPLOAD!)

Haircut!

I know I've been meaning to post about NZ, but there are tons of photos and I dunno which to pick!!

So... on Tuesday, Annie and I and her Chinese school friends Bonnie and Emily, met up in the city =] And we got a haircut. (Well, only me and my twin)

Annie's hair looks really good!!! Although both our hairdressers had this obsession with cutting hair.. like I would say, "keep the length" and she'd happily snip away. Hmph. That's why I woke up looking like Simba this morning. With the mane. Grrrr....

Sadly, I don't have any photos of our new hair, but Annie did! =D

Yay! It was finally family day today. After walking around in cirles in the city for so long with my sisters, Shell and I finally decided to get a haircut. At the first place where we went to, the lady was so mean. She was like "if you want to get a decent haircut, you should come here, ok there's another client now, hurry up and decide." Someone was a bit arrogant..Anyways, so Shell and I walked around in circles again and then we went to the one that was next door haha. It was $45 each cut only because I failed at bargaining T_T. Oh well. At least they were nice. But somehow, hair dressers always cut more than you tell them to, so annoying...now my hair's so short =( Lunch was good despite of the fact that Maple wasn't being an obedient brother and didn't eat the spices that Jocelin was kind enough to provide him with =P. I must say, the highlight of the day was when I won the 2 matches against Maple. Now he has to take sticker photos and eat 2 teaspoons of wasabi hahaha XD. Go Maple!!!! lollol. Too bad that he refused to bet on drinking that glass. It would be so fun to see him drinking a mix of vinegar, soy sauce, milk, sugar, salt, spices and whatever else that I decide to put in there haha. I'm so tired now+really looking forward to the next family day =]

I played badminton a few hours ago and pulled a muscle. It wasn't that bad, but then someone *cough cough* told me to stretch it, and now it hurts even when I'm sitting down. And if I walk, it hurts like hell. T_T I think I'm disabled right now. This is so depressing. If I don't recover by Tuesday, then I'll miss out on family day!!! =S T_T So devastating...

Recently, I discovered that at the place I'm staying at, there is internet! (How convenient...)

So... right now, I'm still in NZ without Annie =[ but with a lot of sheep. Baaaaa.

Did you know that it you were to allocate the sheep evenly between everyone here, each person would get about 4 sheep? (I think, dunno if my sources are reliable though)

Also, I've not seen one black sheep so far! Oh well...

So, yeah. That's about it I think... Nothing of great significance.

I haven't posted in a few days...k...let's see. The holidays are getting slightly boring right now, there's not much to do. My days now consist of tv, piano, badminton, messengering and shopping....can't think of anything else. Hmm...the ENTER came out a few days ago and I'm quite happy with it. But now I have mixed feelings about it. It's like I want to get into Monash med, but part of me hopes that I don't, ok I'm not going to explain myself here. If you know me well enough, you'll understand. We'll just have to wait until January 18th...
